Nationals righty Jeremy Hellickson didn't receive a decision Monday after allowing two runs on seven hits and one walk with three strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings against the Mets.
Spin: Hellickson was effective in his season debut, limiting New York to just a pair of runs over nearly five frames while throwing 61 of his 88 pitches for strikes. It was a positive first step for Hellickson, who made his first start with the Nationals after going 8-11 with a 5.73 ERA with the Phillies and Orioles last year. The 31-year-old likely earned another turn in Washington's rotation with his solid outing, although his next start is currently TBD. (více...)

Nats make roster moves
(17. 4. 2018, 01:56:15, mlb.com)
Jeremy Hellickson was activated to take over as the Nationals' fifth starter Monday night, so righty reliever Trevor Gott was sent down to Triple-A Syracuse to make room on the 25-man roster, and catcher Jhonatan Solano was moved from the 10-day DL to the 60-day DL to make room on the 40-man roster.
Spin: Gott owned a 5.40 ERA over five outings, although opponents batted just .176 against him. Solano is out due to bone chips in his right elbow. A.J. Cole opened the season and made two starts as the Nationals' fifth starter, but with Hellickson's arrival, he was sent to the bullpen. Cole got lit up for 10 runs and 10 hits in 3 2/3 innings at Atlanta in his first start, but the 26-year-old righty was better against the Braves in the second one, allowing two runs, three hits and two walks in 5 1/3 innings.
